MAY 7th, 2009:

MEMBERS PRESENT: DOLPHIN MOUTH + GABE & NICK S. FROM MOCKNBIRD/GIANT TIGER/NIGHT OF THE WOLF

For some reason no one could show up to practice this night except for me. So, I just decided to fool around for a while. I recorded this first song, which might become something, if not FM, then perhaps WORSHIP (an electronic gospel side project with Nick and myself.) Or, perhaps it'll become a solo FM recording, which we are not opposed to doing.

The other stuff we just fooled around on. Started working on that driving song, and talked about if we ever did a seamless set, we could jam on that particular track. Kind of a weird practice, but recorded nonetheless.

MEMBERS PRESENT: EVERYONE

"When you talk to me, you look so pretty
I want to say hi, all the time"
...are the words of that pretty little ditty we just kind of threw together. I love the bass line and the bells especially. Hopefully this will develop into something else. We haven't worked on it sense . This second song is a kind of rotten version of GHOSTLY SIGHT, one of our newest songs that we are quite stoked on. We've had better takes, and we've had worse takes. Then there's a little thing I'd been working on.. kind of proggy, we've got some new material for that song.. keep posted, you'll hear it soon. Then there's LOAM, our country ballad. I think we were practicing this for Patrick and Emily Nelligan's wedding. I love that song. I can't wait to record it for real. Then there's the song we've been calling LABYRINTHINE. Kind of winding and scary huh? That goes weirdly into ANCIENT SWEAT (hey! the name of this blog) which is prog madness splosion. Finally we start working on WITNESS LOVE which we've been calling our new DESIGNED. It is a pretty. Unfortunately it gets cut off at the end for some reason.. who knows. Pretty good practice over all.
